A brand new joint venture involving modelartanddesign.com and the 'Friends of the Fusilier Museum' (sponsored by AIRFIX), comprises 3-hour, evening model-making, and finishing courses. The first of our exciting new model-making courses commences the 26th of October, 2010, with the second following quickly on its' heels on the evening of the 28th. Each evening will comprise a 3-hour session of instruction, coupled with a build of your own Supermarine Spitfire (supplied by Airfix), under close instruction from our internationally renowned team of professional modelmakers. Each session will start at 6.30 pm in the Fusilier Museum, Bury, Lancashire. The courses are open to adults (18 and above), but 12-18 year olds will be admitted only if accompanied by a responsible adult.

These courses will span the entire spectrum of model-making applications, from simple kit-building of Tanks, Ships and Aircraft, to conversions, painting and airbrushing. For more advanced modellers, special courses on scratch-building and conversions/mixed-media modelling will be run later in the year.

The 26th and 28th of October are our pilot courses, wherein participants will be helped to build their free Airfix Spitfire model. Each evening course will cost £35 per person (£30 for Veterans, OAPs and serving Servicemen and women). If they are as successful as their initial reception implies, then classes of 20 people per evening session, will run twice weekly until further notice.
